Sorrento is a busy and vibrant place. We intended to travel around but spent our 10 day holiday in Sorrento. Pompeii, Capri and the Amalfi coast are all nearby. There was much to see, a lovely bay and harbour, the main piazza is a great venue for drinking cappuccino and 'people watching.' Lots of shops in the main street and more in the small alleyways leading off the main areas.
Food was either excellent or fantastic with a full range from the inexpensive cafes serving basic pasta dishes to the more expensive Il Bucco and La Carusso retaurants - Highly recommend Il Buco where we were pampered and treated to excellent food and wine for prices comparable with a good quality restaurant in England.
