Stayed at  Danubius Thermal And Conference Hotel Helia - Budapest, Hungary.
The place is lovely with lots to see. Among many other restaurant one can also visit Spoon Resturant which is on the river and has a lovely view.

M Mordue 09 March 2004
Stayed at  Mercure Korona Budapest - Budapest, Hungary.
Excellent new Italian restaurant, Oliva, on Lazar, across road from St. Stephens Basilica and on same street as hotel we thoroughly enjoyed Cafe Karolyi.

S Shattock 16 April 2003
Stayed at  Liget, Hotel - Budapest, Hungary.
It was a work trip so didn't really have a lot of timne for sightseeing but what I did see was beautiful.

J Mcmillan 30 March 2003
Stayed at  Corinthia Aquincum - Budapest, Hungary.
Away from the center of the city. Recommend excellent Hungarian restaurant nearby called Kisbuda Gyöngye. Not far from hotel by taxi.

R Coleman 07 December 2002
Stayed at  Art'otel Budapest - Budapest, Hungary.
Budapest is very much a walking city particularly with an increase of both one-way streets and traffic. If you want to take day trips out of the city often the best way is hire a car and driver from one of the major car rental companies, current rates are about 45-50 euros per day for both car and driver.

C Ross 17 November 2002
Stayed at  Astoria, Hotel - Budapest, Hungary.
I took the cityrama city tour and thought it was excellent ..approx 3 hours. Easy to walk around central Budapest. I took the mini bus service from the airport. Very reasonable. A taxi back was four times the price. Ate at the Empire Restaurant in the Astoria Hotel. Very elegant and you must try the goose.

J Mcmillan 26 October 2002
Stayed at  Mercure Metropol - Budapest, Hungary.
Public transport is excellent and very cheap. Learn the rules about the metro, as the inspectors can be very aggressive. Best taxi firm is Citytaxi. Cheap, fast and reliable.

J Mcmillan 19 October 2002
Stayed at  Hilton Westend - Budapest, Hungary.
Budapest blends the old with the new. Plenty to see and do. Beware of taxis not linked to major taxi companies, who overcharge 500%. Also many scams using attractive girls in Vaci street to lure men into bars and then get charged $1000 or more for a few drinks. Check the blacklist of restaurants/bars held by the US embassy.

J Weiland 17 April 2002
Stayed at  Art'otel Budapest - Budapest, Hungary.
Budapest is very interesting - Castle HIll area and the Parliamnet were our favorites.
